1. Climbing - the Vulcan Mountain, the Ribicioarei
Gorges
The Vulcan Mountain (30 km) )
Level of difficulty: 4B
Access: AR+WR
From Tebea you go on DN76 up to Brad and from there
on DN74 towards Abrud, up to the Vulcan Pass (also called the Buces Pass
or the Cotoncu Pass).
The Vulcan Mountain, on which the road twists in short
slopes ends with a limestone crag abruptly rising towards the sky. It
is 1,260m high and, due to its dramatic landscape and geological value,
it was declared a natural monument.
On a difference of level of 300m between the Vulcan
Pass and the Vulcan Peak you will come across steep stone walls, large
glades and waves of detritus. Once you are on top of the Vulcan Mountain,
above the huge mass of limestone, you will find forests, clearings and
an amazing panorama over "Tara Motilor" (the "Motilor Country").
The Ribicioarei Gorges
Level of difficulty: 3A
Access: from Tebea you drive on DN76 for about 2 km
and take the asphalt road to Ribita. From here, a pebbled road will take
you to Ribicioara after which you will enter the Ribicioarei Gorges. The
distance from Tebea to the Ribicioarei Gorges is 12 km.
Transport: by your own or rented car or by feet.
The Ribicioarei Gorges stretch on a length of about
2km and the clear waters of the Ribicioarei River run through them. These
gorges have a limestone structure with walls that have very steep segments
and you can even find a cave here - the "Boot Cave" with fossil
traces from Neolithic.
2. Fishing - on the Cris and Mures Rivers, in the local
lakes
- Locally: in the lakes of the
village and in the Caraciului Lake (10 km)
- In the Crisul Alb River (3 km) broad snout and chub; in the Mures River
(40 km) species specific to plain deep rivers
- In the mountain rivers: on the Bulzestilor Valley (15 km): trout

3. Hunting - in the forests adjacent to the village

4. Health treatments - the Vata-de-Jos Spa
The Vata-de-Jos Spa
- Sulphurous thermal baths with a temperature of +36°C;
- The spa is ranged "4 stars", being completely modernized;
- One indoor and two outdoor tenis courts;
- More than 20 treatment procedures are performed here;
- Indicated for: diseases of the locomotive apparatus, digestive diseases,
peripheral nervous system, breathing system;
- Altitude: 200 m;
- Submontane climate, protected from winds.
Location: the spa is situated at 10 km from Tebea on DN76 towards Arad
